in equal measure, the brand new
Vietnam GrandPrix will– Coronavirus
allowing– pl ay against the
spectacular backdrop of th e country’s
capital city, Hanoi. Morepromising
still, despite its proximityto the city
centre, this will be a fusionof street
circuit and permanent track.
The nature of the location has
enabled thedesigners– pr eferred
Formula1 track architectTilke GmbH,
working alongside F1’s in-house
experts –to assemble the track like
a ‘greatesthits’ album.
Its openingsequence of turns,
which navigates a huge urban
roundabout, is analogousto the

Nürburgring,whileother sectionsriff
off Monaco and Suzuka.
A gently curving straight,roughlya

here, the entire pit complex has beendesigned and situatedto keep the
pitlane as short as possible. This
will minimise the time lost during
pitstops and could encourage
multi-stop strategies.T1T2
