involvedinofferingtalksand
workshopsthroughoutthe
UK.Theirlatestexhibition
hastwothemes:‘Drawn
Threads’and‘Celebrating
1,000yearsof Bur yAbbey’,
astheAbbeywasestablished
in1020.Theexhibitionis
takingplaceinthebeautifully
restoredGuildhallinBury
St.Edmunds,whichhasa
caféonsite,makingthisthe
perfectdestinationfor
a spring stitch outing.

TheAliceCarolineQuiltSOSprojectmakes

quilts,manyofthemoutofLibertyfabric,for

childrenwhoneedthemmost.Forthelast

fouryears,theteamat AliceCarolinehasbeen

workingwiththeirfaithfulcustomersandthe

charity,SOSChildren’sVillages,toprovide

quiltsforchildreninRomania,Lithuania,

PolandandLatvia.In2019, 65 quiltsarrived

safelyinthevillageofIsliceinLatvia.“Welaid

outthebeautifulquiltsinthecommonroom

ofthevillageandthechildrencamehouseby

housetotaketheirpick.It waslovelymeeting

the children and seeing them choose their

quilts– theywereespeciallykeentoseethe

individualmessagesthatthequiltersincluded

eitherasa messageonthequiltorasnotes

attached,”saidAliceofAliceCaroline.

projectattractsomuchinterestyearonyear.
