Q

I’d love to stitch a
Kokeshi dolls design
by Joan Elliott – I know it
was in your magazine, but
am not sure of exactly
which issue. Is there a way I
can order the back issue or
the pattern to Australia?
Michelle Dunham,
via Facebook

A

Hannah E: You can
find this pretty pattern
in issue 200 (Jan 2014). The
issue itself is out of print I’m
afraid, however you can still
buy a digital edition via our
Android or Apple apps –
you can download it
wherever you are in the
world! Have fun stitching!

Q

Hi, I’m looking for a
chart of a Morris Minor
car. Can Jenny design one for
me, please?
Tina Bailey, via Facebook

A

Jenny: What a great
choice of car to stitch,
Tina – a British classic! Green
was a popular colour for this
model, and it actually came in
many different shades of
green including sage, almond,
romaine, British racing and
Connaught. You could easily
swap in three shades of a
different colour if you prefer.

Q

I’m looking for a suitable
pattern for a little boy’s
birthday. My friend’s son is
into cross stitch which is quite
unusual for a boy, so I want to
encourage his interest as long
as possible! He will be eight
and he’s into everything. I just
don’t want something floral.
Louise Shaw, via Facebook

Fiona: What a great
new hobby he has, and

it’s lovely that you’re
encouraging him. We actually
featured a great set of kids’
birthday cards in issue 285
(October 2019), by Durene
Jones. There are three little
boys to choose from to best
suit his tastes. You can add the
age to the corner too, and
maybe even his name using a
backstitch alphabet, for extra
personalisation. Long may
his hobby continue!
