How to...
1 Select your skin and hair thread colours and stitch
your chosen head and outfit together on one piece of
aida to create a complete stitched bride or groom figure.3 Hand or machine sew all the way around,
following the pencil line, leaving a small gap along
the bottom edge of the design for turning through.4 Cut away excess fabric from the seams, and turn
through to the right side. Carefully fill the figure with
small pieces of stuffing to pad out the shape.2 In pencil, mark a border of approximately 0.5cm
(¼in) around the edge of your design, and then pin the
stitching to a piece of white felt, with right sides facing.5 Cut your skewer to the desired length – it should
extend out of the bottom of the figure by about 4cm
(1½in). Carefully insert the cut edge into the figure.6 Making sure the skewer is positioned centrally,
sew up the gap evenly on either side using strong
sewing thread, to secure it in place.
