Corp. recently
announced the
launch of its
new telephoto
zoom lens.
The Fujinon
MK50-135mm
T2.9 will be available by
mid July. The new MK50-
135mm lens has a maximum
T-stop value of 2.9 across the
entire zoom range, enabling

well as beautiful bokeh. The
lens can be combined with
the already-released Fujinon
MK18-55mm T2.9 standard
zoom lens to form a kit that
covers the most frequently-
used focal length of 18-135mm.
The lens is compatible with
E-mount cameras with the
Super 35mm, APS-C sensor.

into an optical design to the
maximum extent. The lens also
features three rings to enable

manual adjustment of focus,
zoom and iris (aperture), all
with the gear pitch of 0.8M
(module). The focus ring can
rotate fully up to 200 degrees
to facilitate precise focussing.
These features make the
lenses comfortable to operate.
The X Mount version of MK
lenses (with the focal lengths:
18-55mm and 50-135mm) for

cameras with APS-C sensor are
currently under development
and due to be released by
the end of this year. The
rapid growth in popularity
of shooting movies using
cinema and regular digital
camera boosts the demand
for high-performance cinema
lenses that deliver an advanced

scene-depicting capability.

and noncommercial movies,
interchangeable lenses for
digital cameras are often
used instead of cine lenses.
This is because the former is
more affordable and compact
than the latter. However,
the interchangeable lens is
primarily designed for shooting
still images and therefore
causes inconvenience such as
focus shift and optical axis shift
while zooming. In response to

developed the MK series of
cinema lenses that resolved
these issues while offering
advanced optical performance.
The suggested price is set at
450,000 yen (approx).

company has not streamlined
the sales staff and activities for
the division as it has a pride
for meticulous service such as
frequent visits to customers to
make new deals. As the market is
shrinking, the company is cutting
down the cost of managing
