Nikon launches new

interchangeable lenses

t Cine Gear Expo

2017, Panasonic Corp.

unveiled the AU-EVA1,

a new 5.7K cinema camera

which is positioned between

the Panasonic Lumix GH5 4K

Mirrorless camera and the

VariCam LT 4K cinema camera.

The AU-EVA1 is compact and

lightweight, and it is well suited

for recording documentaries,

commercial and music videos

as it is equipped with a gimbal.

It features a newly designed

5.7K Super 35mm-sized sensor

for capturing cinematic images.

The 5.7K sensor of the AU-EVA

yields a higher resolving image

in 4K, UHD, 2K and even 720p.

Like the VariCam lineup, the

EVA1 contains V-Log/N-Gamut

capture, which features Dual

Native ISO to extract more

information from the sensor

without degrading the images,

by switching from a standard

sensitivity to a high sensitivity

without an increase in noise

or other artifacts, to deliver

high dynamic range and broad

colours. V-Log features log

curved characteristics that

are somewhat reminiscent

records to readily available,

low-cost SD cards in several

formats and compression rates

offering up to 10-bit 4:2:

even in 4K. For lens mount,

the camera utilises a Canon

EF mount, giving its users

ecosystem. The EVA1 will be

available in the markets later

this year at an approximate cost

of USD 8,000 (body only).

wide-angle lens, the AF-S

Nikkor 28mm f/1.4E ED, FX

format Fisheye zoom lens, the

AF-S Fisheye Nikkor 8-15mm

f/3.5-4.5E ED and DX format

ultra-wide-angle zoom lens,

the AF-P DX Nikkor 10-20mm

f/4.5-5.6G VR. The AF-S Nikkor

28mm f/1.4E ED is a fast, wide-

are now available in markets.

The companies will be jointly

working towards the development

of a camera system for ADAS

(Advanced Driving Assistance

to increase the driving comfort.

These driving assistance systems

will be used to improve driving

safety by supporting the driver

in critical driving situations that

require rapid and safe action.

The company aims to launch the

new camera systems by 2020.

Both the companies will be

carrying on long term cooperative

development in the car-mounting

camera system by collaborating

for individual projects.
