Inspiring homes

What I learned...

l I’m not one for everything matching but I
tend to keep furniture very neutral – white,
grey or wood. That way you can add pieces
that complement each other in the same
colour palette to switch things up.

l We haven’t had much budget to work
with just a few hundred pounds per room,
so we’ve tried to work with what we have
knowing that we can change it later.

l When designing a room I tend to usually
start by pinning ideas on Pinterest to see
if there’s a pattern in what I’m liking. I like
to get the big purchases chosen first then
take my time with the smaller pieces.

Guest bedroom
‘I love pattern and texture and
based this room around the
patterned bed quilt, which
reflects my personality. I’ve also
placed one of my macramé wall
hangings above the bed. It’s
a bit of a work in progress as I
want something bigger on the
wall. I recently fitted the wire
shelf in the alcove as well as a
small leftover piece of wood to
create a small dressing table
for all my accessories.’

The large floral pattern towels from Ikea bring the
white bathroom to life and the inclusion of lots of
plants and foliage gives it a natural feel

Marble and gold
bedside lighting from
Dunelm works well in
the room, while simple
prints and plants
brighten up walls.
Hanging planters are
a great way to display
greenery without
cluttering up surfaces
and floor space.

in her rooms, with under the bed being
a prime spot to keep everything neat,
tidy and hidden away
