The dining area is Hope’s favourite spot. ‘The only
contrast wall colour in the house is in our dining space

  • I wanted one bold statement. Our dining table, from
John Lewis, extends to seat 12 – I love seeing a full
table, with loads of people, food and candles,’ she says

Dining area
Hope knocked through a separating
wall to avoid having a traditional
dining room. ‘I don’t understand
why people do this – it creates an
awkward space and furniture never
sits comfortably. We chose to go the
other way as we love to entertain,’
she says. Painting two walls in bold
Oxford Blue from Dulux Heritage
has managed to make it a distinct
zone from the kitchen. ‘Adding
a radiator cover, drinks trolley and
ladder shelving makes the room
feel homely and cosy.’

‘I wanted to breathe

new life into this

house again. We saw

the potential as soon

as we walked

through the door’
