How does the Moon orbit Earth?
You will need:
Make a paper Earth
What is an orbit?
Marble or
small ball
Draw around
a bottle cap.
Colour it blue
and green then
cut it out.
Bottle caps
Paper Glue stick Felt tips
A cake tin
Roll the marble around the edge
of the baking tin to make it travel
around the Earth. Try it in both
directions.
Test your hand-eye co-ordination and learn how the Moon orbits around the Earth.
The Moon travels around the Earth
like a satellite.
This pathway is called an ‘orbit’.
Make it harder! Stick some
paper dots around the edge.
Now try to make the moon stop
on the dots.
