This season, fashion also got a little kinky. The dominatrix look – black leather and vinyl, corsets and chains – was very much

in. Bottega Veneta, Celine and Hermès suggested stepping out dressed head-to-toe in leather, especially in the season-favourite

trench coat. Versace’s and Palm Angel’s takes were a lot more revealing, featuring cinched waists, sky-high heels and lots of leg.

Goths had a surprisingly huge influence this season, most notably at Prada’s Frankenstein-inspired show. Simone

Rocha and Alexander McQueen shared Prada’s fixation on dark romance. Many brands sent out looks entirely

in the goths’ favourite colour instead; even the usually joyous Valentino runway had them. Look for items with

Victorian or lace details, and complete your look with dark lipstick like the models at Louis Vuitton.
