(AndiPallet),passedaway
suddenlyfromanundetected
heartconditionagedjust 37 ,
whichwassuchashockanddevastatingto
hisfamily.Fromthisterribleevent,Alan’s
mumanddadworktirelesslyraisingfunds
fortheBritishHeartFoundation.Seeing
howAlan’sparentshadturnedsucha
terriblemomentintheirlivesintoa
massivepositive,raisingfundsand
supportingothers,Andiwasinspiredand
wantedtodosomethingtohelp.In
December 2018 attheCitySlickers’first
AGMhetoldthestoryofAlan,andasa
resulteveryCitySlickermemberinthe
roomagreedthatwewouldraisefundsfor
theBritishHeartFoundation.
CitySlickersisarelativelynewgroup,
founded 15 monthsagointhecentreof
Birmingham.Anotherfoundingmember,
JohnShephard,adds:“Ourgrouphas
beenaroundthescooter,skinandmod
sceneforyearsandwehaveseengreat
growthwithafantasticbunchoflads.The
Midlandscooterscenehassomefantastic
clubs,sooncethewordgotabout
regardingthecharitygig,alltheclubsand
soloriderswerehappytoattendand
support.OnaSundayafternooninlate
AprilatTheLoungeinBoldmere,Sutton
Coldfield,weputonourgigfeaturingone
ofthebestJamtributebands,JamDRC,
withDJsplayingska,MotownandNorthern
Soul.Wehadmanydonationsintheform
ofscooterhelmets,limitededitionprints
and,ofcourse,theoddbottleortwo!We
hadover 400 inattendanceandover 100
scooterriders,whoraisedastaggering
£ 1200 injustafewhours!Here'stothe
