Black-tailed Godwit
Binomial Name: Limosa limosa
The common migratory bird of Bangladesh, the Black-tailed Godwit, is native to
northeastern China and eastern and western Siberia. They come to our country in mid-September as migratory birds. Sheltered on the banks of tidal rivers. They roam in small
or large groups. The main diet consists of earthworms, insects, small shrimp and otheraquatic insects. In an aesthetic gesture to catch prey, they immerse their long beak in the
