The Crested Serpent Eagle is a common resident birdof prey in Bangladesh. Found in forests of Chittagong,
Dhaka, Khulna, Rajshahi and Sylhet regions ofBangladesh. Once seen everywhere in Bangladesh,
now it is rarely noticed except in certain areas. However, the largest group of them is probably seen
in the Sundarban. Usually solitary or in pairs. Theysearch for food on leafless branches of trees or by
flying in the sky. As soon as it is within reach, it jumps

also eats frogs, lizards and mice. During theFebruary-March breeding season, they lay their eggs
by making nests on tall trees near the forest.
