Craft Stamper – July 2019

(Barry) #1
Book O’Birds
By Samantha Read
Before this project I had never used a mould, the only clay
I had in my stash was some paper clay and the rest was
experimental. The paper clay took the mould’s shape really
well and it dried fast which is always an advantage as being
a crafter being patient isn’t always possible. I quite possibly
took the paper clay from the mould before it was properly dry
so as it dried it curled up at the edges a little, but I quite liked
it. I thought the little embellishments are adorable, and they
were very easy to paint and decorate, I sealed mine with a
coat of gesso. If you’re a confident doodler/drawer you could
put your own designs straight on to them but I opted to
stamp on tissue paper, colour and adhere in place.
