works by some of the best artists in my
country. is is the day when I became
aware of the fact that I needed to focus on
landscape painting. In fact, my diploma
work at the Tirana Art Academy was
centered around landscape painting.
I did this because I could see myself in the
future as a landscape artist. e beauty of
my country is my preferred motif. I have
painted it in all its four seasons. Autumn
has inspired me the most. Its rich colors
always leave me in awe. It’s like music.
I search for air and light in landscapes.I always paint them on location and in
one single session. I remain an artist in
search of nature’s beauty so that I can
capture it on my canvas.
ese last few years I have also painted
in other countries such as Italy, Greece,
Montenegro, China and United States.Fall Chestnuts, oil on canvas, 70 x 80 cm (27½ x 31½")
I was quite surprised when I fi rst saw these huge trees. It was summer, but I imagined how great they would look in the fall. I went back to them when they
were in the peak of color turning. It was amazing! I worked to put on the canvas these such powerful impressions. I tried to capture the light and shadow in the
moment aiming at showing the airiness, which permeated this colorful landscape. I have painted the same motif several other times in the fall.
