It’s pricedto competewith the likesof theFordMondeo,but the

Superbhasthespaceandrefinement ofaMercedesE-Classor Jaguar

XF,whichcostthousandsmore. Our onlyreal criticismisthatit’s not that

excitingtodrive–but comfort, not performance,is itspurpose.

There’sabroadrangeofpetrol and diesel engines.Wereckon

the 148bhp 1.5TSIpetrol is agreat choice, offeringsmooth power

and economyofupto45.6mpg, whichisn’t tooshabby.

Rear-seatpassengers getahugeamount ofspaceand thebigrear

doorsmakeaccessvery easy. Those in the front arewellcateredfor,

too,while othercleverfeaturesincludealight in the boot that doubles

asatorch,ananicescraper housed in thefuel-filler capandcup-

holderswith enough gripforyouto unscrewabottlewith onehand.

Andto topthingsoff,there’savastboot that measures625 litres.
