DURING the formative years of Drag
Racing at Ruapuna, Christchurch,
one of the drawcards was Brent
Thorpe who, between 1969 and 1978,
campaigned several race cars of his
own, even taking the driver’s seat in
his brother Tony Thorpe’s T Altered.
In 1965 Brent had this two-tone ’35 Ford coupe.
Brent’s ’34 3-window, seen here in 1967, later became
Dennis Stanley’s hot rod coupe dubbed ‘Lollipop”.
