As the nominations have closed and a shortlist is de-
veloped, look back at the 16 award categories that will be
featured in this year’s awards event, up from 10 last year.
Some key additions to the awards are the two Editor’s
Choice awards: The Lifetime Achievement Award and
the Innovator of the Year Award. As the industry land-
scape shifts, the awards ceremony shifts alongside it to
highlight the key trends, interests and focal points of the
energy segment.
That is why we elected to include the Clean Energy
Initiative of the Year, Digital Enabler of the Year, Utilities
Project of the Year and the Upstream Project of the Year,
in addition to the 10 categories from the previous edition
of the event.
The categories
The 16 award categories, along with a brief description
of the ideal nominee for that award, are as given below:


Clean Energy Initiative of the Year: This initiative
demonstrates a strategic approach to lowering a com-
pany’s carbon footprint through the use of alternative
energy.


CSR Initiative of the Year: A CSR programme that
has provided demonstrable and lasting benefits to its
targeted beneficiaries.


Digital Enabler of the Year: A company which has
made an outstanding contribution to the digital transfor-
mation of an energy firm through the use of its products,
or services.


Downstream Project of the Year: The most ambi-
tious, game-changing project in the regional refining and
petrochemicals industry.


Energy Woman of the Year: An outstanding female
achiever who has a successful track record and has made
a telling contribution to the energy industry.

This year’s awards ceremony will feature six new categories, for a grand total of 16 categories
representing the breadth of the energy industry, from upstream through downstream and into
the utilities sector as well
