Trust the Exhaust
Exhaust fans in the house can help greatly to bring
down the temperature of a room. If you have exhaust
fans in your bathroom then you should turn them
on the moment you get home to help suck out the
hot air. If your kitchen gets too hot and stuffy, then
you should definitely think about investing in a good
sturdy exhaust fan that can help keep the room cool
and boost air circulation.


DIY Cooler
If you have just returned from the gym or the
workplace and need to cool down fast then placing a
bowl of ice cubes on a table right in front of a powerful
hand fan can work wonders. It may sound too simple
to work, but it is actually very effective and will help
cool you down in a matter of minutes.


Freeze Your Sheets
If it gets really hot and stuffy at night, so much
so that it starts to affect your sleep then you should
consider popping your bed sheets in the freezer before
you make the bed. Ideally, you should fold it properly
and stuff it inside a zip lock bag. Stick it in the freezer
for a couple of minutes. When you are ready to snooze,


take it out and make the bed. Now, do keep in mind
that the cool sensation will not last the whole night,
but it will temporarily help to cool down your body
enough to help you drift off to sleep.

Light Dinners
Cooking on a stove adds to the heat, but that
doesn’t mean that you should skip out on your meals.
Try and cook early in the morning when it is not too
hot. You can either cook extra for the night-time, or
opt for meals like salads and sandwiches for dinner
that doesn’t need you to turn on the stove. You can
also use the outdoor grill.

Ice Packs
The best way to cool down fast is to use ice packs.
You should ideally apply them to pulse points such
as wrists, neck, elbows, groin, ankles, and behind the
knees for immediate effect. Alternatively, you can also
use a hot water bottle. Fill it with ice cold water and
take it to bed. It will help keep you cool throughout
the night.
