I think sometimes it’s the way things are drawn, or certain colours
that are used – a tone of green, or a bluey grey, or a stripped-
down, minimal palette. Even the line weight of a classic tattoo,
maybe thinner or thicker... In Italy right now, there’s a lot of
thinner lines and it feels very Owen Jenson and Bert Grimm
influenced. Smith Street in Brooklyn, New York, is a good
example of a shop with its own style. Bold and bright.
