  1. DONALD NXUMALO
The golden boy of local interior design
chose Kramerville for his first eponymous
    showroom, which exudes Donald Nxumalo’s
    contemporary African aesthetic. Here you’ll
find an array of luxurious, modern, once-
off pieces that keep South Africa in mind.

  2. HERTEX
Hertex is known for producing some of the
country’s most on-trend fabrics, and at its
store, visitors get a chance to see what these
textiles can become when they get the full
treatment. With an expanded product line
of carpets, cushions and even crockery and
cutlery, it’s the sort of place that encourages
you to think big. 16 Kramer Rd. hertex.co.za

  3. LA GRANGE INTERIORS
There are few local brands that capture
the essence of the South African lifestyle
better than La Grange Interiors, with its
    Kramerville showroom reflecting our
proclivity for indoor-outdoor living. We are
obsessed with its Pierre Jeanneret chairs and
coloured glass objects, and like the fact that
its interesting scatters won’t blow the budget.

    10. LIGNE ROSET
If there’s one store that gets our pulses
racing every time we’re anywhere near
this design district, the newly unveiled
Ligne Roset space is it. From classic House
and Leisure cover stars like the Togo sofa
to its newer, even more glamorous pieces,
Ligne Roset is quickly becoming a star of
the suburb. Make sure you sit on the sofas
and chairs – you’ll be hard-pressed to find
    more comfortable and good-looking items.

    11. STREAMLIGHT
Creations by some of the world’s most
    desirable lighting brands illuminate the
    Streamlight showroom, whose open-plan
    space boasts inspiring installations and
a distinctly industrial feel. With pieces by
Schwung, Karman, Vibia and DCW, you’re
bound to find the light of your dreams
    here. 17 Kramer Rd. streamlight.co.za
    12. ST LEGER & VINEY
The St Leger & Viney showroom is a haven
of design, complete with Ralph Lauren
fabrics, De Gournay wallpapers and samples
from some of the world’s most renowned
boutique textile houses. We’re also loving

its workshops with designers from its
brand stable, which give audiences a rare
insight into the process that brings these lush
coverings to life. 7 Appel Rd. stleger.co.za

  1. TONIC DESIGN
In between curating this year’s Design
Joburg, and designing hotels and spaces
around the world, the team at interior-
    architectural design studio Tonic Design
has expanded and redesigned its Kramerville
    showroom. From its own striking
pieces to collectable items by local and
international designers – and an outstanding
contemporary art collection thrown in for
good measure – the showroom is one of
    a kind. 3 Desmond Rd. tonicdesign.co.za

  2. WEYLANDTS
There are a number of Weylandts stores in
Johannesburg, but the wide arches, ramps
and lighting in the Kramerville branch
give the spectacular objects in the line-up
something you can’t get anywhere else.
The in-house coffee shop is also a regular
meeting spot for Joburg’s designerati, so
get comfortable and enjoy a bit of people
watching while compiling your list of must-
    haves. 12B Kramer Rd. weylandts.co.za O
