McLoughlin are still in the honeymoon phase. Two
days after the country star called McLoughlin a “house
husband” in a July 17 Instagram post, People
confirmed the 28-year-old Staten Island native has
taken an authorized leave of absence from his job with
the New York Police Department. With his newfound
free time, McLoughlin was able to join Lambert, 35, in Lake Tahoe for
her July 18 concert in the area. It’s unclear whether McLoughlin will tag
along on Lambert’s nationwide Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour
kicking off in September, but the pair have successfully split their time
between their homes in New York City and Nashville since they secretly
tied the knot in January. “We have the best of both worlds,” Lambert

Over the years Blue has become Mom’s go-to
date for some of Hollywood’s biggest events, but
her superstar parents—whose twins Sir and
Rumi turned 2 in June—try to keep their kids as
grounded as possible. “Just like a regular parent,
Beyoncé schedules activities and tutoring and
decides what they should wear,” says the source.
Starting second grade this fall at a
private school in L.A., Blue “is great
at drawing and also learns multiple
languages,” adds the source. Not sur-
prisingly she’s inherited her parents’
love for the stage: “She takes herschool performances very seriously.”
Sounds like her ma. Beyoncé has once
again proved she’s Queen of Pride
Rock—The Lion King had a $544 mil-
lion opening—but at the end of the day
family remains her priority. “She loves
being a mom,” says the source, and
after overcoming a rocky
period, “she and Jay are
both doing a great job rais-
ing their kids. They love their life.”
