J.D. Scott didn’t think he was going to make it. For months,
the older sibling of Property Brothers Jonathan and Drew
suffered from a mystery illness that left him hypersensitive
to warm temperatures. “I thought I was dying,” he told Us, noting that
he “sent death instructions” to his fiancée, Annalee Belle. After meet-
ing a doctor on the set of Property Brothers: Forever Home, the HGTV
host, 43, learned that the illness might be related to gut health. He’s
since been on a strict elimination diet to identify the cause. While
there hasn’t been a diagnosis, J.D. says he’s fortunate to be here and
owes a lot to his twin brothers, 41. When he realized he couldn’t com-
plete the renovation of his own home because of his illness, they did it
for him. “I’m forever grateful to have such a supportive family.” As he
regains his health, J.D.’s looking forward to his Halloween wedding
and working more: “I’d like to get back in the saddle.”
