enny’s riled as unemployed

Kate asks Johnny for £3k so

she can go travelling. How

about she travels to the local job

centre and funds the trip herself?

The Rovers landlady is pleased

when Kate later announces her

intention to earn the cash by

working at the Bistro. But she

upsets the brunette when she jokes

to Tracy that she’s finally getting rid

of her, and follows up her clumsy

comment by getting Ed to measure

up Kate’s room so that she can use

it as a guest suite for B&B guests.

Knowing his missus is making

Kate feel unwanted, Johnny warns

her not to make him choose

between them. Can Jenny learn

the meaning of the word ‘tact’?

pset that Alina has lied

about getting sacked

from the nail salon, Seb

decides to call her. When

the line goes dead, he and Abi head

over there to investigate...

Seeing Alina on a mattress

round the back,he’s shocked to

realise she’s sleeping there.

But that’s not the half of it.

Rachel interrupts and orders Seb

out. He then overhears Rachel

warning his ex that if she doesn’t

behave, she and her family will

suffer. As he grabs a moment alone

with Alina, the penny drops that

Rachel and her husband, Nikolai,

are people traffickers.

‘Alina decided to leave her

home in Romania and go to

Poland to work for more money,’

explains Ruxandra Porojnicu, who

plays her. ‘However, after a few

months, she still couldn’t find a job

and that’s when she met Nikolai,

who offered her a way out.’

Fearing Seb could be in danger,

Alina urges him to forget about her.

But the smitten lad lurks around

the shop and sees Jan emerge, and

then later he warns Rachel that

he knows what she’s up to.

Rachel puts Jan in the picture

and instructs Nikolai to sort

Seb out. Back on the cobbles,

meanwhile, Abi spots Jan getting

into Rachel’s car, and tells her son,

who confronts his fellow lodger at

No.11 – just as Eileen walks in.

Jan covers, and says he knows

about the trafficking ring and has

told Rachel that he won’t work for

her any more. But will Seb and

Eileen suss out the truth?
