“Neither of us had

larped before, which

is ‘live action role-

playing.’ You’re just

living and breathing

it 24/7 as long as the

trip lasts. We were at

the school for three

entire days and lived

as these characters. It

was pretty ironic since we both do

this for a living. It was a blast. We

had a great time. My brother

went with us and he really got

into it by the end.”

Study Hall

“Each class, they treat it as real

school. You talk about your past

and your history and you learn

spells and you learn different

brews. We had an alchemy class

and we had to learn what happens

when you mix wormwood with

eel tail and stuff like that. We had

a serum class. Each of the serums

did something different to some-

body. Some would drink a serum

and then they’d start laughing

uncontrollably and then another

one, it was like a truth serum and

they were just telling the truth all

the time. It was so real.”

“They can either give you a character
or you can create your own. We had
never done this before, so they gave us a
backstory, but we came up with our own
names. Chad’s was Chase Harlow, mine
was Jade Harper and my brother’s was
Hussein von Holton. I was a full-blood;
mymy mother was a witch; my father was amother was a witch; my father was a
wizard. Chad was a half-blood.”
