Traveling through the northern areas was not an easy experience for
Marta. Spending a few days with the whole family of our friend Mukaram
was a big relief and allowed us to learn so much more about the culture.
Although the official languages of Pakistan are
Urdu and English, basically every valley uses a
different language, sometimes even a few!
WHAT ARE PAKISTANIS LIKE?
There would be no Pakistan without its people.
They are crazy about your safety as tourists. They
also have a huge complex about the negative
image of Pakistan projected in western media. As a
result they try to pamper you as much as possible.
Making friends, you’ll find yourself invited to many
different events with numerous great people. You’ll
get to know families who will be really hard to
part with. You will be asked to give interviews to
press and television. You’ll get a private security
guard assigned by local police. And, you’ll often
be greeted with flowers and confetti. We even
planted several trees as a foundation for Polish
and Pakistani friendship.
IS PAKISTAN WORTH
VISITING?
There was not a single day when we felt unsafe
in Pakistan, although there were a couple
days of anxiety due to crazy traffic going from
the Karakoram Highway to Islamabad. We
were extremely and warmly welcomed in this
country. Even though it is such a different
culture, we met many great people who will
remain in our hearts. We saw amazing places
and drove exciting roads along the second
highest range in the world.
If you decide to come there, you will part
with a long story to tell your friends. You need
to pack a lot of patience, that’s for sure, but
you won’t regret it.

motorcycle journey
from Poland to New
Zealand since June 2018. Shortly after they
married, they began preparations for the trip
of their life when they left their homeland.
They’ve crossed 23 countries and covered
40,000 km riding along the most beautiful
and challenging roads of Europe and Asia.
