UN\REAL

Very much an event in itself, UN\REAL is a promotional

microsite for the fourth Swiss Interactive Media Design

Day. Organised by the technical college GBS and hosted in St

Gallen, Switzerland, this specialist symposium will celebrate a

variety of digital media disciplines. Produced by KiloKilo, a

Zurich-based agency specialising in motion, UN\REAL provides

an experimental programme for the event alongside links for

purchasing tickets. Featuring a strong black, white and yellow

colour palette throughout, visitors are greeted with a random

visualisation that animates with pointer movements. Largely

typographic, there’s also some neat WebGL work powering

hypnotic optical illusions. However, the real highlight emerges

within the ‘REMIX’ mode found in the vertical left edge link on

the site’s unique 360-degree bevel menu. This transforms into

four draggable handles for manipulating attributes such as

spacing, outline, crop and scale for the selected visualisation.

An input field even allows the text string to be customised,

giving users a myriad of options for generating new creations.
