Lyndsey
Nose: Morello cherry
and vanilla ice cream,
apricot pie, cinnamon
and coconut macaroons.
Orange liqueur and
almond croissants.
Moves to floral, apple
blossoms and then to
fresh oak and black in
on paper.
Palate: Oak sweetness
then black tea tannins.
Fruits start to emerge
in the background with
cherries, roast apples
and oranges. A sort of
synthetic sweetness –
not in a bad way though.
Finish: Long and
lingering chilli heat, with
a prickly sherbet edge.
Comments: Fruity and
zippy with the alcohol
under control.

Nose: Herbal tones of
peppermint, pinenuts
and sautéed red
cabbage followed by
hot white chocolate,
whipped cream and
marshmallows with a
little honeycomb.
Palate: Straight away it’s
like chewing on a fruit 'n'
nut bar but soon after
there is peach yoghurt,
orange marmalade,
liquorice and some
barbequed sweetcorn.
Finish: A buttery
texture concluding with
those initial herbal
characteristics that
appeared on the nose.
Comments: Drinking
a morning cup of
peppermint tea in
a patisserie.

Lyndsey
Nose: Heather and
gorse flowers, oat cakes
with goat’s cheese.
There’s a menthol edge,
a tin of chalky mints.
Sweet William and apple
blossom. Salami with
fennel seeds. Manchego
cheese. A faint metallic
edge, wrapped in cord.
Palate: Gentle smoke
notes with some salted
butter, creamy and
tangy. Glacé cherries.
Rum and raisin
ice cream.
Finish: Melon wrapped
in Parma ham sprinkled
with cinnamon powder.
Slowly dries.
Comments: A great
starting dram for an
early 80s dinner party.

Nose: Floral and
aromatic for an Island
whisky with lavender oil,
jasmine soap, freshly
cut cucumbers and
cardamom seeds. Wisps
of sea salt chocolate
and baked coconuts.
Palate: Nutty spices
come to the forefront of
the palate with roasted
hazelnuts, cayenne
pepper, hot sandalwood
and barbequed
charcoal. Dirty oil,
polished mahogany and
blackcurrant crumble.
Finish: Hot and peaty
with an oily consistency.
Comments: A real
tastebud boxer.

Lyndsey
Nose: A little sweet up
front but seems to hold
back a little, pears in
syrup, beeswax, heather,
fine grade leather,
used horse riding tack
and some drying wool.
There’s a touch of dying
ember too.
Palate: Plenty of vanilla
fudge and then into the
sweetness of raspberry
jam. It is still waxy and
sweet with mango flesh.
Finish: Long and
chalky peppered with
cinnamon and a little
ginger powder.
Comments: Quite nice
despite being shy. In
time evolves into a good
solid dram.

Nose: It’s literally
like someone stuck
raspberries and spice
mix into a massive bowl
of Playdoh! Soft and
creamy with sea salt
milk chocolate, coconut
fudge and hot clay.
Palate: The creaminess
on the nose carries
through, but with sharp
bursts of pink grapefruit
zest, cherry cola bottles,
roasted hazelnuts and
rosemary salted chips.
Finish: Interesting tingly
finish on an otherwise
creamy number.
Comments: It's The
Nutty Professor.
