SteponePlacetheFabricB headpiecerightside
(RS)togetherwiththeFabricA bodypiece,sothat
the20cm(8in)edgesalign.Sewtogether.Press
theseamopenthen cut into two pieces 10cm (4in)
inwidth.^01
SteptwoCutoutthefishtemplateandplace it on
thewrongside(WS)ofoneofthefabric
patchworkpieces,sothattheseamlinelinesup
withthetemplateseamline.Drawaroundthe
templateusinganerasablefabricmarker.
StepthreePlacethetwofabricpatchworkpieces
RSfacing,pintogethermakingsuretheseamsline
up.Marka turninggapalongonesideandplace
a lengthofgardentwineinsidesothatoneend
pokesoutfromthetoppointofthefish.^02
StepfourSewtogether,sewingalongthemarked
line.Stitchbackandfortha coupleoftimeswhere
thefabricmeetsthetwine and leave the marked
turninggapunsewn.
StepfiveTrimoffexcessfabricandclipthe
corners,turnRSoutandtucktheturning gap
inside,fingerpressingit inplace.
StepsixStuffthefishwithtoystuffing,use
a knitting needle or similar to reach into the tail.^03

FINISHINGOFF
SteponeClosethegapwitha smallladderstitch.
Step twoWork out where you would like the

button‘eye’togoandmark,ensuring the eyes are
inthesameplaceonbothsides.
StepthreeSewthebuttonsontobothsidesofthe
headusingstrandedcotton.Sewthroughthe
headtoaddsecuritytothe stitching and create
a small eye indent.^04
