No Road Runner worth its decals would
be caught dead without the signature
lavender-colored Beep-Beep horn.
Thank you, Warner Brothers.
Some of the upgrades spotted on this
Road Runner are the Mallory electronic
distributor and coil and plug wires,
excellent changes that certainly improve
the driveability of the classic Mopar.
The factory radiator was refurbished
and is backed up with a thermostatically
triggered electric fan.
Life in Arizona includes its share of
hot days. Holley carburetors are prone
to vapor lock in high temperatures,
so the previous owner added these
insulation blankets to keep the fuel
from vaporizing before combustion.
In Glendale, California, they will
probably not be required.
The 383-cid engine was still the most popular Road Runner engine for this platform,
rated at 335 hp and 425 lb-ft of torque.
