Charlene Brogan writes: ‘‘This
is my daughter Ailsa Brogan.
She was named after Ailsa
Craig island in Scotland, the
same as the Volvo trucks. She
loves getting her photo taken
with them when she gets the
chance. We managed to get
this one taken at Truckfest.
She would love to see her
picture in T&D!”New MAN premises in the north
Construction work is underway on a
3.3-acre site in Team Valley which will host
a new, from the ground up, state-of-the-art
dealership and maintenance facility that will
provide support for the complete range of
MAN vans, trucks, buses and coaches.
Handy for drivers as the new site will provide
washing facilities and refreshments. The
purpose-built dealership is part of a
£20 million investment programme across
the MAN Truck and Bus UK network.Regular Snapshot

recently went on the trip
of a lifetime to the USA,
where he not only
helped a driver but was
taken for a drive in a
Kenworth W900.
Elton tells us: “Thisblue truck (below left)
was parked up at
Danny’s Big Rig Resort.
The driver stopped to
top up his coolant but
accidentally dropped a
bit of foil paper in the
tank and was unable to
retrieve it. My pal and Itook him to a hardware
store to buy a grabber
tool to get the foil out! It
was a dream come true
for me as the driver took
us for a spin; apparently,
the truck has a 1997
engine as the 2016 one
was not good on fuel.”Elton Cook’s American Adventure
Devon Truck Show a big success
After the success of the 2018
event, Devon Truck Show
returned to Smeatharpe airfield,
near Honiton, in May.
Hundreds of trucks attended,
and the feedback from visitors
has been incredibly positive.
Organiser Mike Quartley
writes: “The event was absolutely
out of this world – the support we
get is incredible!
“A huge thank you to Simon
and Dawn who put in blood, sweat
and tears to organise banger cars
for a charity banger race, and massive
thanks to Bridgestone, Southwest RC
Truckers, Fleet Components, KC
Transport and to everyone else at the
show who helped us to raise a massive
£1733.45 for Team Belle.”Team Belle raises funds for the Single
Yellow Rose charity.
