Truck & Driver Summer 2019

The final was a tense battle of nerves

led the event the previous day,

was knocked out.

The semi-final was the ‘Super

Y’. Trucks had to knock over two

sets of pins using the left and

right front wheels, reverse

accurately against a loading

dock, then move forward and

stop in exactly the right spot.

By now, the nerves started to

show and cabs were rocking. It

was a close-run thing, but drivers

from Sweden, Poland and

Norway made it to the final round.

Fiery finale

In ‘Extreme Knock the King’,

drivers had to get out the cab,

put out a fire with an

extinguisher, move a pallet into

position and then start knocking

over the red pins. If a mistake

was made by knocking over blue

pins, the driver had to get out

and set them up again.

Norway’s Andreas Nordsjø

blitzed the final round and won

the grand prize: a new Scania

worth €100,000, plus a year’s

insurance for the truck and a

Scania fleet management

package. Sweden’s Fredrik

Arwidmark came second and

won a hot-air balloon tour and

weekend trip for two to Germany

third place was Poland’s Pjotr

Dovengiewics, who won a VIP

package for two to Norway for

the Scania Winter event.
