Q

“I’VE RECENTLY COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT
MY WARDROBE URGENTLY NEEDS A CHANGE! I
REALISED THAT MOST OF MY CLOTHES MAKE ME
LOOK LIKE I’M IN MY EARLY 20s WHEN I’M PUSHING 30
IN A COUPLE OF YEARS – THINK SKINNY JEANS, CROPPED
TEES AND BALLET FLATS. WHILE I DON’T MIND LOOKING
YOUNGER, I’D FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE IN SOMETHING
MORE POLISHED YET SHOWS OFF MY FUN AND CHIC
PERSONALITY. HOW DO I START REVAMPING MY CLOSET
AND MY STYLE?” – Yana Zakaria, Kota Damansara

Q

“I’VE ALWAYS BEEN THE TYPE TO WEAR
BRIGHT AND COLOURFUL HEADSCARVES
TO MATCH MY CLOTHES. HOWEVER,
SEEING THE TREND MOVE TO A MORE
REFINED AND NEUTRAL STYLE, I’VE DECIDED
TO HOP ON THE BANDWAGON MYSELF! BUT
THE PROBLEM IS THAT I’M A STRANGER TO
THOSE SHADES AND I’M AFRAID TO DIVE INTO
IT. WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND AS GREAT
NEUTRAL PAIRINGS THAT I COULD TRY?”

  • Lynda Mahmoud, Cheras

“Seeing charms on jewellery takes me back to
when I’d wear my favourite charm bracelets
everywhere when I was a teen. I’m excited that
it’s making a comeback with gorgeous designs
and even incorporated in different silhouettes!”

Trust me, I know what you’re going through! It sounds
like what you need is an upgrade, which you can pair
with some of your existing pieces. I’d recommend swapping
your basics for elevated styles. For example, your skinny
jeans for a straight-leg silhouette, or your flats for a flashy
yet versatile pair of sparkly sandals. Small changes like these
help to refresh your style, and soon, your whole wardrobe!

A

That’s a great question! Neutral colours do
go well with many shades but can sometimes
look drab if not matched right. The key is to keep
a contrast so that it adds dimension to your look.
A pairing you can’t go wrong with is a dark brown
headscarf with a mix of white and light browns in
your clothing. Another look I love is one with a mix
of earth tones, so think hues like muted blue and
mossy green to go with your beige headscarf.
