Dungeons & Dragons geek, foodie

Take us through a recent workday.
Aside from promoting Xiaomi’s products, we’ve been busy
preparing for the next Mi stores and kiosks openings. Yes,
we will be opening more, so stay tuned!

One word that best describes how you work:
Collaborative

Care to expound?
I am comfortable in group problem solving because it helps
us evaluate if the idea or solution is effective.

Besides your phone, what apps, gadgets, or tools can’t
you leave home without?
I can’t leave without my charger! I’m a person who panics
when I see my battery is only 30%. I always use Facebook
and Instagram to keep myself updated about trends.

How do you recharge or take a break?
I sometimes go out with my friends to chill out and talk
about life, but most of the time I just stay in my room
listening to my favorite songs while reading a book.
Or I’ll just watch my favorite Netflix series.

That’s literally Netflix and chill! What hobbies do you
engage in?
I’m trying my best to be fit, so I make sure to visit the gym
once or twice a week.

What are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading Everything is F*cked: A Book About
Hope by Mark Manson. I love this book because it helps you
realize what makes life worth living.

We’ll put that in our TBR list. What’s your best life hack?
Pay for things in cash so you won’t think that you have
imaginary money. Just make sure that your credit cards
are not with you!

What does a Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master like
yourself do?
A Dungeon Master takes players into different worlds and
situations, guiding them through stories and interacting
with weird and unpredictable characters that’s laid out in
front of them, and help clear some rules from time to time.

Aside from D&D, what other tabletop games should
people try playing?
There’s quite a lot out there for any style of play—from
card games like Gloom, board games like Munchkins, and
currently my favorite, Dialect: A Game About Language and
How it Dies. You should definitely try it out!

That sounds interesting! So, what’s your life like
outside the realm of these games?
A lot of my time is spent in the kitchen practicing and
experimenting, traveling to Manila looking for good places
to eat (a lot), and a bit of production design on the side.

We learned you recently finished your second degree.
I took up Hotel and Restaurant Management a few years
ago, which was great, but later I realized that the course
was too broad for me. So given the time to think about it
and with the support I got from my family, I decided to
take up a second degree in Culinary Arts. Plus they told
me I was good at it.

What’s your specialty?
I’m pretty good with Asian cuisines—dimsums, braised
meats, and some good stir fry since we’ve got Chinese
blood. Recently, I’ve been trying to branch out and learn
more about Japanese cuisines and so far I’m really happy
about that.

What’s your favorite comfort food?
No question, my lola’s adobo!
