MAXIMIZED HAULERS
Maxus G10 and V80
We Filipinos love our vans and seven-seaters, and Chinese
brand Maxus—which traces its roots to the United Kingdom—
is giving us two vehicles that can haul the family or the
whole barkada.
The Maxus G10 is a nine-seater MPV that features four
captain seats in the second and third rows, and a three-
passenger bench seat in the fourth row. It’s powered
by a 1.9-liter turbodiesel engine (148hp and 350Nm)
that’s mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
For comfort and convenience, the P1,680,000 G10 boasts
cruise control, power-adjustable front seats, dual-sliding
doors, front and rear air-conditioning, a six-speaker audio
system, a seven-inch touchscreen display, USB and
Bluetooth connectivity, and a 220V power outlet. For safety,
it comes with front passenger and side airbags, antilock
brakes, Isofix child seat anchors, parking sensors, and a
backup/rearview camera.
Meanwhile, the Maxus V80 is a spacious van that’s available
in three variants with different seating capacities. The
top-of-the-line Comfort variant (P1,570,000) seats 13
passengers, making it an ideal family van. The Transport
version (P1,288,000) can accommodate 18 people, which
makes it a good option as a shuttle service vehicle. The Flex
variant (P1,190,000), on the other hand, has three seats;
it’s designed for cargo-hauling and is targeted at small and
medium enterprises.
The V80 is powered by a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine (134hp
and 330Nm), and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
