ow many times have
you wished you were a
member of your favourite
band? Well, Southampton
metalcore heroes and all-round dream-
makers Bury Tomorrow have made
that very scenario a reality, forming
the badass-sounding Black Flame
Band with the help of six of their
most talented and dedicated fans.
Having chosen the contenders after
scouring YouTube and watching endless
fan covers of their single Black Flame,
the group then hosted an exclusive
studio event with the winners in May to
“come down to the studio, spend some
time with us practising, performing and
learning how to hone your craft even
further”. The results, as you can see
here, are pretty damn awesome.
“This was one of the best experiences
we have ever had as part of this band,”
bassist Davyd Winter-Bates enthuses.
“The ability to not only work with such
a talented group of people in the Black
Flame Band but also to hear about
how our band has affected them was
truly humbling. We’ve always been a
band that has constantly tried to put
the fans first, but thanks to YouTube we
have been able to do something over
these two days that I didn’t think was
ever possible. From start to finish it has
been incredible.”
Wholesome stuff as ever from one of
the UK’s best (and loveliest) bands. Now
we wait patiently for the Black Flame
Band to take over the world. K!
