A

s managing director of Real Boxing
Only, Michelle Kuehn spends most
of her time around boxers – from
seasoned pros to beginners and get-
fitters. “At Real Boxing Only, I watch people
come in, transform and become a completely
different person with self-confidence, high
fitness levels and a different view on life – and
then I feel they peak,” says Michelle.
“For many, the next natural step is the one you
take into the ring. I’ve seen people completely
transform when they know they have a fight
pending... Nothing is quite as motivating as
knowing you have to get up in front of friends
and family and fight someone!”
Michelle believes that boxing in the UAE

is still a grassroots movement, lacking the
consistent competitiveness that many other
countries possess. So, she has come up with a
way to keep boxers of all levels highly motivated
and on weight. “When you become a member
of FightClub DXB, you’re signing up for a fight
twice a month or three times in three months, so
you’ll never miss a training session, you’ll watch
what you eat and you’ll stay motivated. To me,
that’s the winning formula for inspiring people,”
she says.
FightClub DXB is open to anyone who wants
to fight, aged 10 to 59 and in good health. “It is
traditional boxing so no martial arts – after all, I
am a boxing snob,” says Michelle.

Michelle Kuehn
reveals the health
benefits of boxing

1
Your cardiovascular
health and circulation is
massively improved,
so you burn calories,
stay heart-healthy and
lose weight.

2
You gain long, lean
muscle, without over-
bulking.

3
Along with improving your
coordination and physical
strength, you achieve
a high level of mental
strength. The saying ‘train
hard, fight easy’ rings
true: Push yourself to
never quit by training hard
and gaining the mental
strength you’ll need in
the ring.

4
What I love most about
boxing is that it changes
people: they go from shy
and insecure to self-
confident and high from
endorphins. Their body
changes, but so does their
mind. I believe people’s
true potential can be
found through boxing.
