F
or decades, broadhead engineers have come up with
many different methods to retain the blades of mechanical
broadheads such as O-rings, plastic collars and rubber bands.
However, sometimes those items are the cause of failure – either
in f light or upon impact.
Spectre Broadhead says they have solved this problem
through magnetism. Spectre’s magnetic-blade technology holds
the blades closed throughout arrow f light, but upon impact,
the blades are guaranteed to open instantly for a failureproof
deployment that results in massive entry and exit wounds.
The Spectre Broadhead was designed to f ly like a
field point, and it features a strong, aerodynamic, machined
7075-aluminum ferule with a hardened-carbon-steel four-face
chisel tip that provides reliable penetration through hide, f lesh
and bone. Spectre says their broadhead has the thickest, strong-
est blades of any expandable broadhead on the market. The pair
of 0.047-inch-thick razor-sharp, swept-back blades are magnet-
ized to hold them together until the moment of impact, when
they reliably deploy to cut a path of destruction. The chisel tip
and blades have a gold Cerakote finish for lubricity and wear
resistance.
The new Spectre Broadhead is available in two versions,
namely a 100-grain with a 2-inch cutting diameter, and a 125-
grain version that boasts a 2.25-inch cutting diameter. Each
three-pack of broadheads comes with a practice head and an
extra set of sharp blades, ultimately providing four broadheads
for the price of three.

A
rrow penetration is vital when it comes to successful big game
hunting, yet without precise shot placement, maximizing pen-
etration alone may not seal the deal. Easton says they have the selu-
tion for bowhunters with the T64 Full Metal Jacket – the arrow that
combines maximum killing power with the highest level of FOC
accuracy.
The T64 FMJ shaft profile begins at the front with a 6 mm diam-
eter that seamlessly tapers down to a micro-diameter 4 mm at the
nock end. The integrated front-of-center weight distribution adds
up to 30% more FOC for the best in exacting long-range accuracy.
For lethal big game results, the rear taper creates a reduced-friction
path for maximum penetration. Couple these new improvements with
FMJ's track record of field-proven success, and the Easton T64 now
sets the new arrow shaft benchmark for bow hunting big game, says
t he compa ny.
