To me, it sounds like by going to school
and studying these things, you’ve opened
up your mind a lot more. Your mind
seems to run less rampant.
Going to school made me realize how narrow
my thinking was. It does that for tons of
people but it did it for me in the skate world.
I still have those ideas of perfection and
that inherent desire to see something done
perfectly, which is what I’m dealing with now
and with Justin and this video part. I have
control on the gauge and these things are still
a part of me. But when I skate I’m trying to
think less. I don’t need all these words and this
huge story to explain what I’m trying to do
because—
Yes, you do. It’s a part of you, from
your mannerisms to how your mind
works. It’s important to convey these
things and someone else might take
it the wrong way but that’s on them.
Back to narrow-mindedness, people will
judge regardless, but if they really want
to understand you, they’ll either use
