While Evan Crowhurst
(Jack Ryder) was
undergoing emergency
surgery last week after
being stabbed by a patient,
his lover Chloe Godard
(Amy Lennox) discovered
that a woman named
‘Sophie’ was listed as his
next of kin. Awkward.

Harrow

● DRAMA / 9pm / Alibi

NEW

Flamboyant forensic
pathologist Dr Daniel Harrow
is back and, despite being shot in the
stomach at the end of the first series, he
hasn’t lost any of his charm or swagger.
After a short spell in an induced coma,
Harrow (played by Ioan Gruffudd) is still
alive – minus his gallbladder – but not
one to spend time convalescing, he dives

straight back into action. In this first
episode of a new 10-part outing, Harrow is
determined to solve the mystery of why a
new mum turned violent before she was
then killed. Meanwhile, the police believe
they know who shot him... A pleasing mix
of play-along sleuthing and murder-most-
horrid balanced with lively performances
and comedy touches. HHHHER

Ackley Bridge

● DRAMA / 8pm / C4

It seems that Cory has hit the self-destruct
button in this week’s episode of Ackley
Bridge. When he’s kicked out of home after
being caught with his dad’s girlfriend,
Cory (played by Sam Retford) goes to pal
Naveed for sympathy – but he’s appalled
by Cory’s behaviour and the two friends
fall out. Mandy’s maternity cover, Sian, is

the only person who seems to be on
Cory’s side – but he oversteps the mark
when he decides to kiss her! Later, Mandy
(Jo Joyner) gives birth but she feels
overwhelmed and underprepared for
motherhood. Luckily, she has help from
an unlikely person – Kaneez Paracha
(Sunetra Sarker). HHHHVW

Chasing the Moon

● FACTUAL / from 8pm / BBC4

NEW

This atmospheric series, shown as double bills
over the next three nights, details the space
race between America and the Soviet Union in the 1950s
and 1960s. It begins with the launch of Soviet satellite
Sputnik, which induced huge fear among Americans
who expected Russia to then drop a nuclear bomb. The
Soviets were also the first to send a man into space –
Yuri Gagarin in 1961 – motivating President Kennedy
to push for the US to be first to the Moon. HHHJL
