BLOCK PRINTS

Traditionally printed using beautifully

carved wooden blocks (although

now, of course, it’s mostly done

digitally...), these patterns have a

heritage that endures, and they are

a work of art for your walls. As they

can be heavily detailed and busy, use

them in a country or Scandi look with

simple, wooden furniture and plain

fabrics, and limit them to a feature

wall rather than a whole room. The

great thing about block prints is that

even though they can be highly

detailed, they are made with only

two or three colours, which makes

them surprisingly easy on the eye.
