Motorcycle
“Let go of everything you know about Har-
ley-Davidson.” The 116-year-old motorcycle
manufacturer knows well that electric vehi-
cles are the future, and that it needs to start
attracting young er riders. The company is
clearly serious about plug-in bikes, because
the fi rst mass-produced EV motorcycle to
wear the Harley badge “checks all the boxes
a top-shelf electric should.” Though the
steep price will limit its reach, “this could be
the jump start the industry needs.”
Ride Apart
“Acceleration is instant and savage”:
Zero to 60 mph fl ies by in just 3 seconds.

Combine that quickness with a stiff alu-
minum frame, a quality suspension, and a
45-degree lean angle, and the 549-pound
LiveWire “handles more like a Japanese
hot rod than a lumbering big-twin Harley.”
During our test ride, “it attacked every
corner eagerly and effortlessly.”

Jalopnik.com
Credit the computer technology, which
goes “above and beyond what you’d
expect from Harley.” Sophisticated traction
control and anti-lock braking systems keep
the bike planted, and the touch screen does
a lot of little things well. Harley will make
much cheaper EV bikes, but buyers should

fi nd this halo product worth every penny.
“In the same way that driving an interest-
ing car has value, so does this bike.”

Best websites...

And for those who have
everything...
Luxury
bathtubs
are trending,
and there’s
no more
luxurious option
than theToto Flotation Tub.
Billed as the world’s fi rst tub that allows
users to experience total weightlessness,
it has a contoured bottom that encourages
a fl oating position similar to an astronaut’s
resting position in space. The bather’s
body is meanwhile massaged by noise-
less jets of warm water, including two that
stream over the shoulders just below the
built-in pillow. Toto, the Japanese com-
pany that previously revolutionized toilets,
claims that the tub helps users’ brains
reach a meditative state. The LED ring at
its base provides mood lighting.

QWear proper sunglasses. Sunglasses
aren’t optional accessories, because UV
rays cause damage to the eyes that accu-
mulates over time, and too much exposure
can cause cataracts and even lead to blind-
ness. Wear shades even when it’s cloudy;
the larger the lenses, the better. Make sure
the glasses completely block UVA and UVB
rays. Polarized UV lenses go a step further,
blocking reflected glare off sand and water.
QDon’t blame your glasses. If you wear
eyeglasses, you can order lenses treated
with a clear coating that blocks UV light.
Some contact lenses are also now made
with UVA and UVB blockers.
QRemember the lids. Each year, up to
500,000 Americans are diagnosed with
skin cancer of the eyelids, so remember the
upper and lower lids when you apply sun-
screen. Mineral-based formul as cause the
least stinging if some touches the eye.
