been granted official

charitable status

It’s planned to be

established near the

classic hairpin at the

top of the Rest which

has been an iconic

motorsport location

for many years in

hillclimb, international

rallying and

motorbike events.

Old Ford Rally

What’s going on: Love pre-1995 Fords? The

long-running Old Ford Rally always attracts a

strong gathering of classic and period-modifi ed

examples from the ’50s and ’60s and now that

the organisers have expanded the age-range, a

good turnout of modern classic Fords, too. There’s

always a particularly good autojumble, and over

400 cars have already been entered for this show

in the grounds of Gaydon. Find out more:

IN AUGUST

What’s going on: Few shows can touch

the Gathering for sheer variety of old,

interesting metal, and even fewer can

claim to take place in as picturesque a

location. The Gathering moved from its

previous home at Prescott to Shelsley

Walsh in 2014 and has since grown

bigger and even more varied, all while

retaining the warm atmosphere that

made it a great event in the fi rst place.

Pitch up, wander round the amazing club

stands, grab a cider and observe the

great and the good of the UK retro car

community fl ing their machines up the
