TRIAL Louise Porton
Murder trial
mum tells of
sex act offer
A MUM accused of killing
her two children offered to
perform sex acts for cash
while one daughter was in
hospital, a court heard.
Louise Porton allegedly
murdered Lexi Draper,
three, and 17-month-old
Scarlett Vaughan because
“they got in the way” of
her lifestyle.
The 23-year-old part-
time model admitted
agreeing to send explicit
pictures to a photographer
from a hospital toilet in
exchange for cash.
She also admitted
offering to perform sex
acts during a photoshoot.
Porton, of Rugby, Warks,
told Birmingham crown
court that she did it
because she “hadn’t been
paid at the time from
Universal Credit”.
She denies murder. The
trial continues.

KILLED Barry Carmon
Crash death
chain ‘keeps
my son near’
THE mother of a man
killed in a head-on crash
with a van has been left
with nothing but his
cherished neck chain.
Barry Carmon, 30, of
Belford, Northumberland,
died almost instantly in
the April 2017 collision.
His mother Carol, who is
plagued by nightmares,
told Newcastle crown
court that she carries the
chain so she “always has a
part of Barry with me”.
Matthew Crook, 27, of
Blyth, admitted causing
death by careless driving.
He drove his van the
wrong way along the A1
near Newton-on-the-Moor
after leaving a pub.
Handing him a nine-
month suspended
sentence, Judge Penny
Moreland said: “Your care-
lessness robbed a family of
their son and father.”

MOTSI MABUSE
ON LIFE WITH HER SISTERS
PADDLE
GIRL Motsi
as TV judge
MOTSI Mabuse had a humble start – but true
grit helped her rise from segregated South
Africa to international dance champion.
The 38-year-old is replacing Dame Darcey
Bussell as a judge on the BBC’s Strictly Come
Dancing, but the road to the top has not been easy
for Motsi – older sister of Strictly pro Oti.
She was born into a poor family in Kraalhoek,
north-west South Africa, and sister Phemelo and
Oti – full name Otlile – soon followed. Despite
their poverty, the sisters just loved to dance.
Mum-of-one Motsi, who
became a star on Germany’s
Let’s Dance show, said: “We
were the wow girls, the show-
girls. All three. And the biggest
diva of all of us – that was
Otlile. She has the greatest
confidence.”
Her 2015 book, Chili in the
Blood, reveals the strain of
living under apartheid, with
Motsi saying: “Everyone was in
a kind of fighting mood.”
She initially followed in her
father’s footsteps and trained
to become a lawyer but Motsi, who speaks eight
languages, quit to train as a professional dancer.
After moving to Frankfurt, she married her
German dance partner Timo Kulczak and the pair
went on to become Latin dance champions before
splitting in 2014.
But even during her dancing days, Motsi battled
with her weight. The TV star, who is now married
to Ukrainian dancer Evgenij Voznyu, told how in
Germany, people would sometimes stop her in the
street to say: “You are not as fat as you appear on
TV.” But Motsi didn’t let it get to her.
“When it comes to weight, it’s the same with
fashion: the main thing is to feel good,” she said.
Motsi will join Shirley Ballas, Bruno Tonioli and
Craig Revel Horwood on Strictly Come Dancing
from September.
