Pleats are one of SS19’s most pervasive trends, thanks to Balmain and Valentino, and appear in a much

larger-than-life, futuristic way than we’ve seen in previous seasons. Think exaggerated shoulders, billowy sleeves

and sculpted round backs that have an origami-like, couture sensibility, but still remain inherently wearable.
