WHERECANISTAY?
Just a 20-minute drive from the heart of cosmopolitan Palma, OD Port
Portals is a design-led four-star hotel with 67 rooms and ten junior
suites which is open all year round. Just minutes after arriving, OK! was
relaxing on a plush white double poolside sun lounger with a minty
mojito in hand feeling just like a Love Islander! Overlooking the glitzy
Puerto Portals marina lined with restaurants and flanked by sandy
beaches, OD Port Portals has a cool modern look with bespoke design
features such as funky lighting, artwork and mismatched chairs. OK!
loved our suite’s sea-facing balcony, the blue cow skin rug and colourful
potted plants. Don’t miss their famed weekend brunches (£23), the
complimentary yoga classes and DJ beats at the rooftop Sky Bar.

Puerto Portals marina, nicknamed Millionaire’s Marina, is a great place
to people watch and has a celebrity following with Louise Rednapp,
Michelle Keegan and Paris Hilton all fans. Take a pew at Baiben
restaurant, which boasts the perfect location overlooking the marina
with a huge outdoor terrace. There OK! enjoyed crispy tuna spring rolls,
ceviche in a zingy mango dressing and a prawn and courgette paella.
Leave room for the dumpling rochers, sweet doughy pastries filled with
a warm praline sauce on a bed of crunchy nuts. Just heavenly!
Dine at La Paloma, located in the heart of Palma’s Old Town. The
wonderfully atmospheric restaurant is housed in the stone basement
of a 15th-century mansion and is famous for its tapas. OK! ordered
the tapas festival, a tasty selection including traditional favourites
patatas bravas, garlic prawns, dates wrapped in bacon and
Serrano ham.REPORT BY EMILY WHITWAM EDITED BY OK! TRAVEL EDITOR ANNABEL MACKIE
