Decals and the tools
of the trade for their
application.The decals were superb, settling down nicely over
the model’s surface detail. Once dry, the model was
sprayed with several than layers of Tamiya Semi Flat
Clear to both seal the decals in, and create a soft
satin sheen.Though I’m normally careful with the application of washes
into the panel lines, in this case I simply mixed up a dark
grey colour from Raw Umber oil paint and Humbrol 79 Blue
Grey, thinned it with white spirit and then liberally applied
it to the model. Having dried for several minutes, the wash
was removed from the surface of the airframe with a soft
cloth moistened with white spirit, a soft fl at brush allowing
further adjustment of the fi nish where needed.Here’s the result
