His lower-half stability gives him
a great base to work against. His
shoulders are still closed but the
hips are beginning to open, paving the
way to a perfect transition from
downswing into through-swing. This is a
great position to copy halfway down.

There’s a terrific turn through
the ball. The hips have cleared,
allowing the club and arms to zip
down the line. Great extension is a real
feature of his swing. He’s not long by
modern standards but pound for pound,
this is as good as it gets at this point.

Centrifugal force pulls him
nicely through on to his left side.
The balance he’s shown all the
way through his swing is encapsulated
in the finish. When you watch him play,
it’s almost like a computer-generated
swing. Mechanically, it’s textbook stuff.
