Morning! What’s going on for brekkie?
Breakfast is a quick stop, with a cup of tea to get
me going. I tend to drink Assam tea – always
with milk and the tip of a spoon of sugar.
Te ll us about your business and its inspiration.
My Trailback journey started when we got our
Rhodesian Ridgeback, Roscoe – whose sleek
silhouette is our company logo. I searched high
and low for a pair of suitable boots to walk him
in and found an old pair of rigger boots that were
waterproof. I decided I’d make an off-rig version
of the boots, without the safety features, and
so began a long journey. I’m very proud of our
handmade, waterproof and versatile boots.
Brilliant! What does your morning look like?
I work from home in Perranporth, on the north
Cornish coast. Working from home is great, but it
of ten means long hours. Each morning, I pack up
boots for customers. What I love most is when acustomer tells me how much they love their
boots. It makes everything worthwhile.
And if you fancy a break?
I’ll take Roscoe and Blue Blue – our Labrottie
(a Labrador-Rottweiler cross) – out for a walk to
the local beach. It’s amazing how good breathing
in the fabulous fresh air makes you feel.
What about lunch?
I always have lunch with my husband, as he
also works from home. I often run stuff by
him to get a second opinion. After lunch, I work
on our marketing and social media until about
5pm, when the boys get home from school.
Can we make you a cuppa – what kind of mug?
A fine china cup – tea tastes nicest that way.
How do you unwind at the end of the day?
I often sit with the family and watch TV or go
for a run. No matter what the day has been like,
