background.

ASSEMBLY

1. Join the 3 rows to create an
   octagon.

2. Add 4 F triangles to square the
   octagon.

3. Join Unit 4 to Unit 5; make 4.

Join Unit 4 to Unit 5; make 4.

4. Add a Unit 4–5 to each side of
   the center star. Pin at the dots. Stop
   and start stitching at the dots, back-
   stitching at both ends.


5. Sew the 4 corner seams, pinning
   at the dots. Sew from the out-
   side corner’s edge to the dot; then
   backstitch.
